Egypt Getting Stricter On Regulations To Prevent Tourists From Bringing Covid During Visit

New procedures for tourist arrival at Cairo as follow: 

Egypt announced the following new procedures for entry to Egypt. It is forbidden to enter Egypt without PCR analysis of Covid-19 with a negative result, 96 hours before arrival in Egypt ( By land, air, or by sea), this decision applies to all foreign nationals, including Americans effective October 1st, 2020.

Below are some of the new decision the Egyptian ministry of tourism has issued for new guidelines:

1) All museums and archaeological sites in the major Egyptian cities will be opened for visitors and both Egyptians and foreign nationals will be allowed to travel between tourist cities, monuments, and various museums, while adhering to the precautionary measures.

2) This is following the established controls for the operations of tourist buses and all activities associated with cultural tourism, as well as incentive travel to Egypt sites, with sites taking no more than 50% of their actual capacity.

3) Tourist groups do not exceed 25 individuals in archaeological sites and museums, and the commitment of the tour guide to wear masks or face cover and explain using headphones inside museums, and sterilize the headsets after each use.

4) Egyptian government along with the Egyptian health department will carry out daily cleansing at all common surfaces and museum floors before opening all Egyptian sites to the public for a visit, taking into account the temperature of workers, staff as well as visitors, and taking into account maintaining safe social distancing between tourists during the visit.

5) A maximum number of visitors who are present during the same time inside Egyptian museums and archaeological sites has been set to a maximum of 200 visitors per hour for the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, 100 visitors per hour for all other Egyptian museums, and between 10 to 15 visitors or tourists to visit any Egyptian pyramids entry or ancient cemetery from the inside.

6) The Egyptian government has agreed to resume tourism in the towns of Luxor and Aswan, starting from November 30th, 2020, to hotels, Nile cruises, museums, and temples, as well as over-day visits and quick-trips to Luxor from Hurghada, according to the standards and procedures established by the Egyptian Supreme Committee for Crisis Management, and safe operation under the Egyptian Ministry of Health's controls.

Egypt air effective Immediately, and till further notice, will require all passengers "including Egyptians" traveling to Egypt that MUST have a negative PCR test that can’t be older than 96 hours before arrival.
