Egyptian Archaeologists had uncovered a tomb containing 50 mummies that go back to the Ptolemaic era (323-30BCE). 12 of these mummies belong to children, discovered inside a deep burial chambers in the Tuna el-Gebel site in Minya, south of Cairo. Egyptian mummification methods suggest that these individuals, held important or high ranking positions. Some of the mummies were decorated with demotic handwriting, a form of ancient Egyptian script used by ordinary people. The mummies are thought to be around 2,500 years old.

Egyptian Archaeologists unearthing the mummies think that during the burial, the symbols on the sarcophagi insinuate a belief that the statuettes would magically come to life and farm for the deceased.

The most important amulet is one that depicts a trinity of three Ancient Egyptian gods - Amun, Horus and Neftis.

The discovery also sheds light on a collection which includes 5 anthropoid sarcophagi made of limestone, with hieroglyphic inscriptions carving. Wooden coffins inscribed with ancient names were found along with other Egyptian assortments.
