What Do We Know About The Second And Third Pyramids Of Egypt?

The Second Largest Pyramid In Egypt:

Built by King Kephren, southwest of his father’s pyramid though lower in height: 446 feet, it still retains, on some of its upper parts, the remains of the limestone that had once covered all three pyramids. At the base, it measures 705 square feet. Its interior is simple, with two entrances located on the north side. The Second Pyramid, like all other pyramids in Egypt, had an exterior covering of fine-grain limestone. Now, only a small portion of that limestone facade remains.

Tourists can also still see the remains of the mortuary temple, the temple of the Valley, and the rising causeway. These temples have witnessed over time the religious rituals during the mummification of the embalming of the corpse.

The Third Largest Pyramid In Egypt:

Built by King Mycerinus, also know as King Menkaure, southwest of the great and second pyramid. It is much smaller than the other two 203 feet. It is unique by the fact that the lower part of its side still retains its granite slab covering. The ANCIENT EGYPTIANS, built the pyramids to be tombs to preserve the bodies of their dead kings, especially that they believed in second life and resurrection, followed by immortality.
